In Ghardaia, the desert is discovered through a way of living, of sharing water, of building and of passing things on. This trip links the ksour, the palm groves, the markets and local encounters, before a day in a 4x4 and a night on a farm. A cultural take on the Sahara, paced to leave real time for watching and for talking.
From Ghardaia, the road gradually leaves the town behind and enters the Grand Erg Occidental. Two days of 4x4 crossing, two nights under canvas and a return to the farm give the trip a clear rhythm: track, camp, activities in the dunes, then a gentler close around farm life and a cooking workshop.
Timimoun tells its story in ochre, in palm groves and in tracks that lead away from the oasis. This five-day trip brings together ksour, villages, foggaras, 4x4, a cooking workshop and a meal with a local family. It moves without rushing, from the red dunes to the Petit Tassili, with several moments of sharing that give the Gourara its human dimension.
Four days to settle into Timimoun's rhythm without trying to see everything. Faoun, Ouled Saïd, Aghlad, a cooking workshop, the Petit Tassili and the old ksar make up a focused first encounter with the red oasis, between villages, desert and shared moments with a local family.
In the Tadrart, the days move to the rhythm of the tracks, the arches, the rock art and the camps. The 4x4 links the great sites; short walks open the way to the paintings, the dunes and the rock formations. The trip stays centred on the desert: seven days of progress before a final stop in Djanet and the flight home.
Eight days to reach the Tassili plateau on foot and enter a territory where frescoes, cypresses, canyons and camps set the pace. This journey is earned: several hours of walking each day, luggage carried by the caravan logistics and nights under canvas, to reach the great rock-art ensembles of Sefar and Idjabarene.
The Hoggar changes the shape of the Sahara. Here, volcanic peaks, gueltas, plateaus and rock-art sites replace the endless horizon of dunes. The circuit moves from Tamanrasset up to the Assekrem, then deeper into the Tassili of the Hoggar, with light walks and several nights in camp before a return to a guesthouse.
From the Algiers seafront to the red dunes of Timimoun, this grand circuit lets you feel the shift into the Sahara unfold. Boussaâda opens the road, the M'Zab introduces the valley's architecture and traditions, El Menia marks a new desert stage, then Timimoun settles the trip among oases, foggaras and camp, before a return by way of Tipaza.

Algiers, Oran and Tlemcen set the urban and historical tone; Ain Sefra opens the gates of the Sahara; then Taghit, Beni Abbes and Timimoun take over with oases, ksour, dunes, 4x4 and local experiences.
