Why we created this trip

We created this short version for travellers who have little time but refuse to reduce Timimoun to a simple excursion. In four days we kept what tells the Gourara best: the villages, the relationship with water, the cooking, the landscapes of the Petit Tassili and the exchanges with those who live here. A condensed format, without giving up the human dimension of the journey.

Day 1ArrivalFlight from Algiers

Flight from Algiers, welcome in Timimoun, transfer to the hotel or guesthouse depending on availability, check-in and overnight.

Day 2Faoun and the Gourara villagesOff by 4x4 to the Faoun cliff

Off by 4x4 to the Faoun cliff, its ksar and its cave, a picnic lunch, then Ouled Saïd and Aghlad and the water-sharing system. Dinner with a local family.

Day 3Cooking and the Petit TassiliA cooking workshop in a guesthouse garden

A cooking workshop in a guesthouse garden, lunch with a local family, a 4x4 excursion to the Petit Tassili, sunset, a méchoui and a traditional music evening.

Day 4Old ksar and returnBreakfast

Breakfast, a walking discovery of the old ksar and the market, free time, a light lunch, then transfer to the airport for the return flight via Algiers.
