We created this trip around a moment that cannot be repeated at will. The eclipse gives a precise reason to be there, but we did not want to reduce ten days to a few minutes in the sky. The route links Algiers, the coast, Tlemcen and Oran to turn the waiting itself into part of the journey, before living together the moment the whole itinerary was imagined for.
Welcome at the airport, transfer and a first discovery of Algiers depending on arrival time.
Guided visit of the Casbah, then the capital's great cultural and scenic landmarks according to the programme.
Road to the coast, ancient sites, fish lunch and on to Cherchell.
Road to Mostaganem, discovery of the centre, the market and the urban heritage.
Road to Oran and discovery of the city, its districts, markets and main landmarks.
Departure to a clear observation spot on the outskirts of Oran. Observation of the total solar eclipse, then back to the city for lunch and free time/encounters in the historic centre.
A full day in Oran: historic districts, seafront and time for encounters, at a freer pace after the astronomical rendezvous.
Road to Tlemcen and discovery of its heritage: palaces, mosques, gardens and historic lanes.
Domestic flight or road transfer depending on configuration, arrival in Algiers and overnight stay.
Transfer to the airport and end of the journey.
The journey begins in a lived-in capital, before taking the road west.
The Mediterranean and the ancient sites accompany the transition between Algiers and the Oran region.
A cultural stage revealing another facet of western Algeria before Oran.
The high point of the journey: a morning built entirely around observing the phenomenon.
